ARTIST INFORMATION

Biography

With a unique blend of street soul and underground Hip Hop with a Midwest swing, SkitzoMichigan is ready to change the scene in music. Don’t let the name confuse you “Skitzo” is just a reflection of his use of self talks to motivate himself. Born in Kalamazoo, MI, he was raised smack dead in the middle of Detroit and Chicago, where he learned to sharpen his skills. He partnered alongside MastaMind, an underground legend from Detroit, MI, and Esham Smith, a Hip Hop underground pioneer, who together have sold more than a million albums combined.

Together, Skitzo and MastaMind have toured across the USA several times on national tours such as “Raised from Hell” and “Bizarres World,” featuring platinum-selling artist Bizarre from the group D-12 under Eminem. He has released 5 studio albums, 4 collaboration albums, and over 300 features collaborating with artists from all across the world.

A very well seasoned stage artist, he has performed alongside some greats, including Tech N9Ne, E-40, Jelly Roll, Esham, 1.C.P, Hopsin, Rittz and the Geto Boys, just to name a few. Some of his major accolades include performing in front of a crowd of 10,000 juggalos in 2016 at Legend Valley, Ohio, with I.C.P at the Gathering of the Juggalos. He is the 2011 Last Man Standing blaze battle champion, hosted in Kalamazoo, Mi at Papa Pete’s Nightclub. He is credited with writing hooks for hit songs such as “Drummer Boy” and “Premonition.” He also published a comic book titled The Sumerian Tablet in 2013 and then published a coloring book titled Lucid Dreams in 2017. He has been featured in Kalamazoo Gazette as well as The Revue magazine and Faygoluvers magazine.

One of the hardest working underground artists, he brings a unique style of deep content with a soulful emotion carried by intellectual street poetry. Something like you never heard before, he is a breath of fresh air. He writes from a place of harsh truth and perseverance that has the unique ability to reach people from all races and economic backgrounds. Influenced by writers like James Baldwin and men like Malcolm X, he has the perfect blend of pain and pleasure. His musical influences include Kid Cudi, Outkast, e-40, Dead Prez, DMX, Royce Da 59, and Big Krit but his sound is comparable to none. His charismatic personality brings an intoxicating stage presence, which fits well with his innovative and refreshing sounds.
